    Well, I'm at the the Port of Oakland and haven't heard anything about this
    rumor as you stated it. I have heard that when the modifications for the Jack
    London Square basin are completed, the Port intends to legalize (and charge
    for) live-aboards up to the legal limit, at which point they will probably
    crack down on those that aren't legal. I've also heard that the Port is going
    to sell off some or all of the basins to private interest, and who knows what
    policies the new owners will implement.

    Currently, if they succesfully roust the "sneak-aboards", they're going to have
    a LOT of empty slips.
