You know it's easy to read this thread and think nothing of it. and i
think that is because I am not a "live-aboard" as you and many others are.
I have a residence beside Evening Star. And maybe that's the key. What
changes "LIVE-ABOARD" from one that STAY ABOARD"?
I spend my week on evening star. My wife comes down to join me on Fridays
and we'll head out to our favorite gunkhole for the weekend. I do this
because I work 20 minutes from the boat and live 2 hours from work (don't
ask it's a long story). So here's my premise.
find someone that is willing to allow you the use of their address, keep a
change of clothes there, and use it as your legal address. Then the boat
is your pleasure craft once again and you have circumvented the rules.
the draw back is if you feel that you should be able to live aboard and not
be taxed as others living in more traditional housing. I think that if
your trying to hide something, modern technology is catching up to you. If
you truly love the life style and your an upstanding citizen then you
should be permitted the right of choice. the choice of living aboard or
ashore.
I guess the politico's only want their unfair share but what's so new about
that...
