Thanks to all (quite a few!) who replied to my request for L.B. info on the Pac coast. This info was very helpful. I've summerised below. I was surprised at the very differing impressions from some folks in nearby areas--especially regarding difficulty of getting slips; some L.B. boat owners finding this very hard; others appear to have had little problems. <wonder if impressions would differ as much, here too?>

    1) LB slips are limited (by law?) to 10% of a marina in CA
    2) Boats 35-40 ft have more LB vacancies than bigger/smaller boats in the SF area for some reason...
    3) Wait lists are common, because of #1, but there seems to sometimes be ways around this....except right in SF: it's full (some disageed with this...) Santa Cruz also full.
    4) Southern CA: 7-11.50$/foot per month + $50-150 L.B fee= 350-450/month Electric extra. Can be higher...
    5) San Diego has probably the most liveaboards (although most respondants were near San Fran..)
    6) Seattle area 300-350/ month. Lots of covered slips, less sailboat slips??
    7) Generally, slip rates are a little less than east coast rates, but with more regulations, and wait lists...which are very rare over here...
    8) There's no fall/spring North South migration out there (probably not much reason for it due to generally better weather) & folks tend to stay in one area for a period of years (?)

    Thnaks again,

    Terry
