Jim good story but what did you do? Are you now of another thought that
not paying is okay?
What could have been done is leaving a note and or a business card asking
the owner to contact you with the fee for a short overnight at his dock.
Odds are that they wouldn't bother but at least you did all you could to
avoid taking without permission...
Just a thought.
