This was sent to me, but I think it might be meant for you. Hope it restores
some of your faith in womankind.

Good Grief, Rick...were you at the same show that I was?. I was standing
there selling books and talking to the nicest couples (of all ages) that
you would ever meet. I am definately of the grey haired group but the
partnership that I built over forty years wasn't changed by our age or
our wealth. Of course, I meant those promises I made long ago and so did
my husband. Sailing? well it was never "his" sport. It was always our
sport. In fact, It was me that talked Rol into our O'Day 40 (which he
named "Glory B", reflecting our attitude about sailing and life in
    general.
From your comments and the contrast to mine, I think that perhaps
we take who we are and our attitudes and our values wherever we go, into
sailing and into life in general. Try to look for those I see next time
you are out looking...they are a great number.
            Joan
