We have lived aboard in New England for 5 years and have some ideas for
surviving winter aboard. If you have tips and ideas ...
I'm getting ready for my third winter aboard a wooden yawl in Lake Ontario. I
use two oilfilled electric heaters - always on low (look like old fashioned
steam radiators - no fans) and one or two microfurnaces for spot heating. I
build a plastic tent over entire boat and lay rockwool insulation bats on
outside of deck over cabin area. Additionally I dress entire freeboard with
an R5 soft plastic/foam blanket (specially cut for my hull). I'm warm and
snug as a bug in a rug.
and we heat with 3 Pelonus heaters What's a PELONUS heater?
Electric/diesel/propane?

Oh yes, I also decorate boat with profusion of coloured lights - as does
almost everyone in the marina (except the odd grinch) :-)
