To all those who took/made the time to respond to my first foray into all
this, I thank you kindly. All messages have made it into the "Living
Aboard" folder for present/future reference. Eventually they'll be printed
out and put into our "reference guide" as a means for us to look and say
"this can be done, this can be done...". G!!
In the mean time we are in the very initial stages of simply cleaning up the
boat and starting on the numerous repairs which are necessary to get her
usable. The past two days have been spent sanding, sanding and sanding some
more the outside of the cabin house. We've opted (for the moment) to go
with a painted cabin house as oposed to the varnished one she sported
previously. For one I felt the maintenance was easier, for the other, it
was far simpler to accomplish than what otherwise would be necessary. This
is "external" only... This work should be accomplished by the end of the
weekend, at which time we will be changing the boom, installing the main and
mizen and generally getting things ready for next weekend's trip home.
Following that trip will be the start of the "real work"... At that time
also will be the beginning of the millions of questions my wife and I have
come up with in casual conversation. My "normal" answer (recently) has been
"we'll figure it out...", her response has been "ask". So we will. G!! (I
know who's boss!!). Next step... hope Boat US comes through with the
insurance, or...
Thanks again for all responses... I will get back individually when time
allows (next week).
