I wasn't clear. We used 3/8" CDX, smooth both sides and laminated the two
pieces of ripped material. So that equals 3/4". The screws in the field were
removed in the hopes of allowing more flexibility. I thought that I could
not easily handle a ramp made of a laminate of two 1/2" plys. We did grind
the screws in the triple laminate. Those two, three-layer rails add further
strength.

| Couple of thoughts.
|
| The plywood sold at the big box stores is strictly garbage.
|
| These days a lot of it comes in from China.
|
| At least consider 1/2(12 mm), CDX, 4 ply if possible, 3 ply in a
| pinch, rather than 3/8.
|
| Price difference is negligible.
|
| Once it is sealed, it will live in the environment.
|
| The weight difference is minimal and the strength will be improved
| immensely.
|
| Use S/S fasteners and grind flush when adhesive sets rather than
| remove them.
