Couple of thoughts.
The plywood sold at the big box stores is strictly garbage.
These days a lot of it comes in from China.
At least consider 1/2(12 mm), CDX, 4 ply if possible, 3 ply in a
pinch, rather than 3/8.
Price difference is negligible.
Once it is sealed, it will live in the environment.
The weight difference is minimal and the strength will be improved
immensely.
Use S/S fasteners and grind flush when adhesive sets rather than
remove them.
