Seems if there is an identifiable problem in the anchorage, that it would benefit the residents(sailors) to be proactive to clean it up so that the town "powers to be" would not have to address it. Seems to me that would be better than complaining about the town's interest in fixing it. The town can not hoist anchor and move to a cleaner location like the boats can, so it is reasonable that there is some concern. What do you think Norm?

On the other hand, considering the abuse some water borne bums give the town, I am surprised that it has taken this long for them to act on the problem. I personally have seen what the bilge rats have done to the Holy Hole, once a nice clean secluded anchorage. Last time I was there sunk "boats" littered the water and garbage on the shore. I met and spoke with a couple of the residents. My impression was not boaters - but homeless floaters.? Last time I sailed through, I saw some "boats" anchored off the town that looked like they were wrecks in the making. When they go down who do you think has to haul away the trash and foots the bill for the clean-up? Not the previous floaters that's for sure.?
Norman could give a better description of the problem as he winters there. It is unfortunate that we get caught up in the sweep.? If any one has an Idea on how to address this problem which affects all, lets discuss it. May be that the town officials would be receptive to the input. Any comments Norm?
