Lee,
Your aluminum tanks can be repaired at any good welding shop.
Most likely the leak is in a weld.
Even if the inspection hole is inconvenient it is VERY EASY to add another
inspection hole.
There are tens of thousands of boat with aluminum gas and diesel tanks.
Right down the bayou from my home is a yard that builds alum boats, BIG
boats. All alum and all tankage is aluminum. Their smallest boat is about
150 ft. Just about every crew boat on the Gulf Of Mexico is alum and has
alum tanks.
