I guess I am confused about how someone owns this list.
Yes Stefan has put a lot into this list and I respect
what he has done. However everyone that contributes to
this list has a stake in it. I don't think the new list
is my list it's our list and we all just want to make sure
that we have a place to go.
I for one am concerned that no one has heard anything from
Stefan. Does this mean that if the server goes down again
he will not be available to fix it? It has nothing to do
with loyalty to anyone it has to do with making sure that
we have a place to live.
What could I possibly have to gain from hosting the list?
I am actually a little offended by your comments Bob
because I have put a lot of time into getting this
running. Time I could have been spending with my family
or doing the 100 other things I have to do. I am also
offering my server and my bandwidth that I pay for to the
list and asking nothing in return. Why? Because I have
gotten a lot of useful information and help from this list
and anything I can do to help to keep that information
exchange going is enough payment for me.
The fact that I am trying to join the new list to the old
one so that we have the emails in both places should show
that I am trying to keep this list and Stefan in the loop
with everything. Also if you actually read the list you
will see that I have gotten several emails asking what
they need to do to join. I have not been pushing it in
anyway.
If I really wanted to steal everyone from this list I
would have created the list in secret and then posted
something to the list saying hey check out this new list I
created. Even if I had done that what is to say that
everyone would just leave this list and join mine? Is
there some law I don't know about that says people can
only be on one liveaboard list at a time?
I had really tried to hold my tounge on this but the fact
that you now have called me unethical kind of crosses the
line don't you think? Maybe I should ask what you have to
gain by bashing me and trying to keep everyone on a list
that Stefan has said he no longer can support.
If you choose to not join the new list because you have
some kind of warped perception that there is some kind of
hostile takeover going on then that is your loss. I will
also be very happy to send you some tinfoil so that you
can make a helmet to keep the government from hearing your
thoughts since you seem to be prone to thinking that there
must be some kind of conspiracy going on here.
So just to make sure we are clear. This is not a hostile
takeover, nothing I have done is unethical, I was not in
the grassy nole, Elvis doesn't live at my house, and all I
want is for the list to survive.
