I used a Sikaflex product to "glue" two tempered glass windows (about two
feet on a side) onto the front of my aluminum pilothouse. I don't remember
the number but it was black. There was a 1 1/4" overlap of the glass over
the aluminum with 1/8" spacing wires to insure 1/8" of the Sikaflex between
    the glass and the aluminum.

It seemed to work fine for a year or two, but one day anchored in St
Augustine I was in the saloon when I heard a bang on deck and saw a splash
out of the corner of my eye. The wind had been blowing from astern. When
I went on deck I found the glass missing out of one of the two glued
windows with the bedding still attached to the aluminum. I got out the
patterns and drilled nine holes through both patterns and aluminum then
took a ride to the glass supplier. Some time later my two formerly
glued-on glass was bolted on with the old glue serving as bedding. No
    further problems.

One window in the saloon that I glued in with 5200 about 7 or 9 years ago
has come loose when I pushed on it.

Although I once felt that a good, strong, glue like 5200 would be
sufficient to install windows in a boat, I no longer feel that way.
