I have serveral servers and a very fast connection so
hosting isn't a problem. The pictures that Sam has up for
the list are on my servers as well.
I just need to know what the software is that the list is
running on so I can see if I can use the same software.
Either that or at least be able to import the user list
so we don't all have to rejoin it.
I also have Mediawiki software running if we wanted to
have a liveaboard wiki as well. I wish they had a list
that woudl tie right into the wiki but I can't find
anything that does that.
There are several mailing list programs that will run on
Solaris so that would be the way to go. I can run lists
off of my mail server but I have had problems with that in
the past so I want to stay away from using it if I can.
I would also like to register a domain just for the list
then we can have the list address be something that has to
do with liveaboards.
I need to know for sure that we are really going to do
this before I put a lot of effort into it though. I did
started to do this once before and then we never moved.
Since the voting so far has been to go with my server I
guess it's safe to start to really look at getting it
setup.
Thanks,
Vern
