I have a 15" one on my sailboat. I got it used for about $100 from e-bay and works on 12V. It was originally made for an ATM or public assitance/information kiosk. The LCDs made for these type of applications are usually industrial strength, touch-screen and waterproof (I guess to protected them from people spilling drinks, etc. on the monitor). Another option: look for EVA monitors, many of them are waterproof and 12V, but they are expensive new.
regards,
Marco
