I have to disagree with Bob on this.

I buy a lot of stuff over the phone, on line etc using my credit card. A condition of the card is that it must be signed by the person it was issued to, so in these cases that condition has not been met and the card company will reverse the charge. It will take a month or so, but it ultimately it does get reversed.

If you withhold paying the credit card company while they are either looking into this or to force them to do something, all they do is add interest onto whatever amount you withhold. And some of the rates on these cards are very unreasonable so the interest charge can be substantial.

I believe that you may also be able to go after the company for mail fraud. I love the US for some of their neat laws. We don't have that here in Canada so it makes it almost impossible to criminally charge anyone in a matter like this. Now, whether Norm wants to go that route and become involved in a criminal matter is another thing.

Personally, I'd contact my credit card company, tell them about the dispute and let them take care of it.

    Rob.

Addendum - all the foregoing it put with understanding that credit card companies in the US act the same as they do in Canada.
