I think you have to call Village Marine Tech about the charge on your
card. If they were billing you for what you expected to be warranty
service, then they should have informed you that the work they billed
you for was not covered by the warranty before billing you for it.

What on earth were they doing with your credit card number anyway? If it
was warranty work, they shouldn't have needed it (and when they asked
for it would have been a good time to insist that you expected not to
have to pay for the repair, owing to their "Lifetime Guarantee").

You mgith still eb able to get your money back, but you've got to go
after Village Marine Tech rather than Schwab.

Ok, so it sounds like these guys are doing a pile of false advertising
on both the construction of their equipment, and their warranty claims.
File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, using the form at

    https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

Upon filing, your complaint should get a case number or some such.

After you've filed your complaint, call up Village Marine Tech, describe
the complaint you've filed, state that you've filed a complaint (citing
the case number you received), and ask for your $650 back (in that
order). You may find yourself quite surprised at just how cooperative
    they suddenly decide to be.

    Cheers,
    Kris
