    yes it does if I set it at a 45 deg angle. But when the cover is closed and the wind exceeds 20/25, the cover falls off

    and while cooking, having the cover at an angle blocks half the grill. mine doesn't stay up right, only at a 45 deg angle...

      Are you all sure that the cover doesn't hang on the side of the grille by the fittings on the bottom of the knob? My gas Magma does this. The knob is slightly loose, I actually tried to fix this until I found its second function as sideways cover holder. If this is not clear, I could send a picture.
