Hello Henrik.
I have no experience up there but, I have friends you may be able to help you with more recent info.
While they have a house in Sitka and run 2 radio stations in Anchorage, they are very active in the Alaska community and could easily put you in touch with people who are doing it now.
They did tell me, last year, that there has been a push towards trying to get rid of liveaboards, because of people living on rotting hulks, simply trying to avoid the land prices.
I'm not sure if that applied to all liveaboards or just the non functional eyesores which usually attract this type of attention.
