I have seen circuit breakers with ground fault protection, they cost about $35 for 30 amps. The regular was about $6 I think. Seems like a small price to pay for marina safety. A tripped circuit would cue the boat owner that he has an induced current electrolysis problem that is apt to be expensive even if it does not kill anyone.

My GPF protection is at the outlet on the boat - it will trip when ever I insert a plug having a load on closed circuit such that there is a slight arc discharge to the air when inserting.

My boat is steel. Before I acquired the boat it lost so much of its plate to induced electrolysis that it sank hard. bought the hulk for about three cents per pound. Its wiring and isolation transformers looked very expensive. Now there is no AC wiring system - just well secured heavy extension cord. So if any stray current finds its way to the ground wire it does not sink the boat. My shock protection comes from the GFP circuits that work almost too well.
