I lived in Sitka, some 50 miles southwest of Juneau, there were many
people living on small islands or boats at that time (1986), that
portion of Ak. is often called the "banana belt" of the state due to
frequent rain but higher temp's in comparison to then further inland
or north. About Juneau in specific, sorry i'm not knowledgeable at
present.
