Go to the www.garhauermarine.com and search for KR-1.
these are mounted on the stanchions outboard and the kayak goes in-between them and the stanchions.
I copied the idea since I can fabricate them myself I don't account for my time.
It keeps the deck clear of all obstructions and the weight of the kayak is at the base of the
stanchion so there is no additional support needed.
    I hope this helps.

The Revolution has 100 lbs more carrying capacity than the Sport, but it does weigh 10 lbs more and is nearly 4 feet longer. The extra capacity seems valuable to me but I'm not sure it would be worth the increased wrestling aboard problems. The additional length may be more problematical than the weight. I'd be interested in seeing your storage system.

        Well folks,
I was down in Annapolis this weekend and I went to see the hobbie dealer
        across from the Sailrite store.
It is the Backyard boats store and Jean Tucker is the owner of the business.
I got to try all four of them and I am impressed.especially the "Sport" @
        $1,399 and the "Revolution"
@ $1,599 were my choice. There are also the Hobbie "Adventure" @ $1,799 and
        the "Island Adventure" @ $2,990
with sails and rig very nice.
So I got the sport as lighter and shorter that can be stored easily outside
the stanchions on special arms that
I am going to fabricate from stainless steel tubing.
The total weight of the sport model is a whole 48 lbs and I am very
        impressed.
I am also very impressed that I did not pay a penny crossing the border.
So I am thinking to put the Apex RIB for sale with the 20 hp Mercury....
Just a thought that crossed my mind.
