There is a product called On and Off, (marykate.com) used by the fishermen of Gloucester. It contains hydrochloric, phosphoric and oxalic acids.

It comes in gallon jugs. You spray it On with a garden sprayer, and then wash everything Off. Topside scum, algae, barnacle bases and most everything else just disappears.

As with all powerful things, use with caution.

I'm leanin' towards a case of beer and some guys with other things to do, but don't want to...heh how do you feel about the Chemical Peelers? Any problems with that approach, other than the mess? How about paint stripper? I know that one kind of stripper will disolve gel coat as you watch. But how about the idea of liquid or gel strippers applied as needed on the hundreds of 'spots' of bottom coat left?

Your idea of rounding up some 'grunt' labor sounds good too..jeesh, there goes spring sailing -
