Subject: lv-ab: Reading NMEA
Hi all,
I've been wiring up my GPS to my McMurdo Nav6 Navtex, all via my plotter.
The Navtex records my log data and I'd like to be able to download this log
data after a sail onto my laptop. I'm currently putting together the serial
cables to plug into the laptop but I'd be interested to know if any of you
download your sailing data and, if you do, what software you use to capture
this data. The navtex manual isn't much help but surely if it records my log
(SOG, COG, waypoints etc) then there must be a way of capturing this data
(in a txt file maybe?) on my laptop?
Please note I'm not really interested in having the laptop running and
recording this data whilst actually sailing, though this could be fun to
play with at some point.
Any suggestions on grabbing this data gratefully received.
Regards,
Jamie
