You hit that nail right on the head. & yes.... it is true every where.
Picture the Keys as a big concreted over, gated community.... full of nasty,
greedy people who don't want you or your boat any where near them. My main
point to the guy that posted his "dream" of life in the Keys.... is that it
is over.
The post from the Florida native (my family's only been here 30 years) is
very sad..... for everyone who knew & loved the Keys, South Fla & the
people....as they once were.
Texas winters can be really tough as a liveaboard!

this is the future of not just the keys, but the world. why? because
of money in politics. either get the money out of politics, or get rid
of representative democracy in favor of direct democracy, or get used to
it. either way we must take the money (kickbacks, campaign finance,
special interest groups, powerful corporations, etc) COMPLETELY out of
politics so every Joe and Jane has an equal chance to be an elected
leader no matter what their financial situation.
I'm currently living aboard in Texas. its okay here but the weather
sucks.
