I have heard good things about the LAVAC, but have no direct experience with it.
We have a Wilcox/Crittenden Skipper on our Mason 44, a drop in replacement for the previous one, which lasted 16 years with very occasional rebuilds and very heavy use.

Subject: lv-ab: Head Replacement - LAVAC vacuum manual
We are considering switching heads on Enjoue before we leave the dock
and head out cruising. We want trouble free ease of use.
One of the leading candidates is the LAVAC.
I noted that they previously made a different model that is now
replaced by the POPULAR model. We note they have a manual version
with the hand operated 'whale' type pump.
Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Popular model
Lavac, or good advice on switching heads? We will appreciate your
experience and advice.
Thanks,
Ed & Sue on ENJOUE
