Hi Alan,
My recommendation is for you to determine the root cause of the problem by
using common sense. You can start by ignoring the irrelevant ramblings
offered to you as advice and focus on describing the problem as accurately
as possible. Call the Iota customer service and ask them what else could
cause the output reverse polarity protection fuses to blow if the battery is
connected in the correct polarity. Write down every observation you have
made that is associated with the problem and offer it to the customer
service technician. It seems like a bizarre method of ground fault
protection for a charger to deliberately cause it's DC output reverse
polarity protection fuses to blow open. Let us know what they say.
Good luck Bud.
