First of all, thanks Ed (and Sue) for forwarding this. Skip and Linda, I'm
just catching up with the emails about your recent travails and, more
important than the boat, that you guys didn't sustain any physical injuries.
Boats can be fixed, it's oftentimes harder to do the same for our bodies!
I've been "off the computer" for a bunch of days (and no painful withdrawal
symptoms <g>!!!!) so I'm just catching up. I don't know what to say other
than I'm really sorry this happened to you and my wishes go out to you for a
speedy recovery of "Le Porc" in Marathon. If you can connect with Charmaine
and Bill you definitely should do so. I can just about guarantee that one
evening with them at one of their local watering holes you'll be thinking
"repairs? what repairs?" . We'll at least for an evening!
You referred to a Pay It Forward mentality and I can definitely relate. Even
with the understanding that you're not soliciting "recovery" funds if
there's some sort of link where we can contribute - or the PayPal account
I'd love to make a contribution.
This list has been a great FREE resource so, at least for me personally, I'd
love to be part of some payback for all the knowledge I've gained and the
resources I've been directed to. And if that "payback" means helping someone
on the list then that's fine by me.
Without getting to "squirrelly" about this I have to say that I've made a
huge number of friends off of the list and the most remarkable thing is that
I haven't even ever met most of them! And friends help friends, whether or
not they've ever met in person!
As my sainted grandmother used to say "So what if you don't need it. Good
for you. But take it anyway!"....Or at least she'd be sainted if my tribe
believed in saints <LOL>!
Anyway, I hope the repairs won't take too long and you guys can get back to
cruising sooner rather than later......
Best of luck,
Steve
