I know squat about electrical, but I’ve done several long distance cruises
using my Honda EU 1000 plugged into the 110v adapter yellow power cord,
which plugs into a GFI protected circuit and then into
My freedom inverter/charger. The EU then will slowly charge my battery bank
or provide high amp load relief when needed, i.e. using a 110v tool.
I found periodic use of the Honda lets me run my engine less and conserve
fuel.
My Volvo, approx. 1/2 gal per hour, the Honda is three hours on less than a
gallon. In addition when placed down wind, you can hardly hear it! (if you
were near me in an anchorage you’d hardly hear it either). Nice unit.

This could be part of the problem. The neutral has to go out somewhere
and if the unit is not grounded to hardwire ground it is defeating the
purpose of an AC cycle.
Huh??
