Subject: lv-ab: re: Heaters
We've had some single-digit temps here in Baltimore (thanks, Canada).
In my 30 footer I use an oil-filled unit as a primary heat source. It is
beneath my salon table. The past several nights I've had to also use a
ceramic heater. I have a fan blowing the heat into my v-berth. I've kept
warm, nothing has frozen. The shrinkwrap and the insulation overhead &
against the hull do help keep it cozy in here.
The oil-filled units are terrific. My feet stay warm while sitting here at
the table. Towels, wet socks & gloves dry quickly and do not burn or ignite
when draped over the heater.
Last year some plumbing in the cockpit lockers froze. This year I put a
small Goldenrod in the lockers and nothing has frozen.
