I think, for the most part, solo sailors are some of the most responsible
sailors afloat.
It takes a lot of prep and seamanship to safely steer your craft to her next
port.
Every solo sailor I know is a survivor, with keen instincts of the waters
around him, the sky overhead and the depths beneath his/her keel.
I also agree with Ken's take on it, lack of sleep can be a problem, but it
can be safely worked around.

Actually, in my experience as well as many others, it is much easier
from many perspectives to sail offshore than it is to do coastal
sailing. That is once you get out of the shipping lanes or away from
heavy traffic. Yes, getting enough sleep can be a problem, but most of
the time it is not.-Ken
