In Alabama such a response to a regular city cop might land you in jail
with a broken leg. Resisting arrest. And guess what? The Judge would
back it up. Not good. The Police here are presently under investigation
for just such shenanigans. I have got to know one or two of the
Officers, and they themselves are frustrated with some of the things
that go on.
But the water cops here are under a lot of stress as many of the spoiled
rich landowners are complaining about seeing too many boats anchored for
too long...never mind that there is still no place to put all of them
unless you want to move and most of the available slips that do come up
from time to time are very expensive.
I know that most of the water cops here really are not trying to hassle
folks, but some are on a 'power trip'.
