I've often seen manatees grazing sea weeds of the pilings... i dont'[ what
they're eating, i'm sure it's not the barnacles and shells but i see them
doing it. they like to hang around near pilings or sea walls...
aroudn So fl, we have manatee zones that are marked oct 1st thru april 15th
only, it is manatee season as they migrate south... are there any in
northern FL at this time of the year? i don't know... i'll take your word
for it.
" have not seen any "accidents or stupid behavior" in my neighborhood when
there were cops around"
well, that makes sense doesn't it ? t hat's why I'm glad to see them on the
water, on weekends where moronic behavior is the most frequent...
the dangers from small crafts going fast near marinas or in anchorages is
not only wakes, although a 20' CC at the wrong speed can produce a
significant wake. it's also the risk of collision...
