    Hi everybody.

What a wealth of information. I have a few questions that have been rambling
around in my head for a while . Any good ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

    1. The transducer that I have in my boat is used with an old Datamarine
"Death sounder" and works on 200Mhz Is it possible to use the same
transducer and rewire it to fit a fishfinder?. I would like to avoid hauling
and replacing it. (I am thinking about Garmin 498 )

    2. I presently live on an anchorage but have a friend in land who has
offered me to use his WI-FI on land. However I get a very weak signal and
cannot go closer because of depth. Is it possible to extend the range of a
    laptops WI-FI. ?

    3. I purchased a HD TV, a Polaroid but need to get a tuner. A friend told me
that it is possible to use the old tuners, from direct TV, as opposed to
buying a 200$ unit. These are often found at second hand stores. Does anyone
    have experience with this?

    Thanks again for your help

    John Miami
