Do you consider a refrigerator, as opposed to an ice box, pretty much
mandatory for live aboard in a situation where ice is readily available?
I ask because a refer requires a lot of power and mine, (a 20 year old Adler
Barbour), never gets cold enough to freeze anything so it doesn't seem to be
useful for long term food preservation.
It seems like blocks of ice last 3 to 4 days and I'll need to get to a pump
out about that often anyway.
Or is that just too much trouble for the long run.
