Funny thing.
Once upon a time we were underway in the NC sounds on AP when a guest came
on deck with her water bottle. Shortly after she sat in the navigators
chair I noticed the shadows in the wheelhouse begin a slow march across the
room. When I glanced astern I saw our wake was a big arc.
Our friend's water bottle had a magnet (purported to enhance the health
qualities of the water) in it and the AP compass was about two feet away on
the other side of the bulkhead.
