I would go with the Racors. They are made for the job, I have used them
for 34,000 miles with no complaints.

Read my Bandersnatch's Fuel System on Janet Guthrie's web site soon to be
    posted.

The crud in the bottom of the tank is a huge issue that needs to be
addressed. You must clean it out or it will rise up and attack you at the
worst possible time in heavy weather.

The first thing to do is to arrange your fuel suction to suck from the very
bottom-most point of the tank to insure that anything and everything that
sinks to the bottom of the tank will be routinely removed by the normal
operation of the fuel system. It is a fuel tank, not a sludge tank.

Install an electric pump in the fuel suction line between the tank and the
primary filter to move the fuel around.

Install a valve downstream of the primary filter to allow you to return the
fuel to the tank after it goes through the primary filter.

This will allow you to "polish" your own fuel.

You then need a wand to stick into the tank and push fuel through it at
sufficient pressure to use the wand to make a stream of fuel sufficient to
knock the sludge loose to be sucked up by the new, "low-point" fuel suction
and be captured by your primary filter. The electric pump may be
    sufficient.

After you remove the bulk of the garbage in your tank, normal operation
    will keep it clean.
