My fiberglass boat also has a keel stepped mast. I used white thick
showercurtain plastic for the boot, enough wraps to make three layers
with SS solid band (not with screw adjuster cut out slots) hose clamps
and Marine Goop underneath to seal, looks fine, I have to change it
every ten years or so when the plastic deteriorats but it doesn't leak a
drop even in hurricanes. I use thick rubber as 'shims'.-Ken
