spartite i think is what you're thinking about. there are other non marine
priced products out there. I beleive mcmaster carr has a very similar
product if not the same properties as spartite and a fraction of the cost.
Spartite will still leak but not as much. if you have a good boot it'll not
leak that much either.
when looking to see where it's leaking, check to make sure do you don't have
core rot. if so, you'll need to get rid of the rot and fill the void with
expoxy. if it's the screws holding the colar, either 4200 (as someone
sugested) or my person preference is life caulk :)
