The stator and housing was replaced for about $700. Entec will press new
stators into any housing that the screws are not seized in , for ~$450. (Of
course the screws are steel in aluminum with no never seize.) For some
reason mine could not be reused. Parts from Entec have been very
reasonable & available and the control system is simple and effective, but
the unit has not been reliable.
I have worked on Westerbeke gensets that looked like nice units. I now own
2 Westerbeke 42B engines, the parts cost is about double what it should be.
