When I was in the Army I bought myself a lite weight sleeping bag with
a liner and a bivy bag. I also got a thermarest style mat. This proved
a great setup for all conditions I encountered (-5 to 40 Celsius
nights ie. cold to very hot).
Why don't boaters use something similar? It would probably need to be
custom made. You could do it yourself with a decent sewing machine and
the right materials ( I used to get my mother to help ).
Cheers
