Yes, you are correct. Point it out to them, if they want the business, they
should get involved. I would - and have - gone to businesses on several
occasions to get things changed. It works.

First story - a radio station in Austin, Tx had a continuing skit of a guy
who was always drunk. Of course, it was intended as just entertainment. However,
when they placed him in a car driving around Austin, broadcasting it as
though it was live and real, and as though it was really funny, it got all over my
MADD butt. I spent a bit of time trying to convince then it was wrong - after
all, I spent a lot of evenings testifying on an impact panel to convicted
drunk drivers to convince them to change their ways, and now it's supposed to be
    funny?

They didn't change, so I called their top 5 advertisers, explained to them my
percieved problem. I told them that it certainly was just a goofy skit, but
if these things didn't influence people's behavior, they were wasting a lot of
money on advertising, because most of it was just that as well. BAM! One day,
it was off the air. Radio station manager said I'd played a dirty trick, but
I learned it from them and their editorials.

Story 2. Local country resturant. Smoking allowed. No non smoking section
at noon, small one at night, but smoke travels. I finally got fed up, went to
the owner and explalined that we liked his food, liked his service, but
couldn't stand the smoke. If we had to breath smoke, we just couldn't come back. He
promised that the next day it would be non-smoking. It was, and has been ever
    since.

Figure out where their weak point is, then hit them there.
