    Hi All,

I just finished reading Don Casey's Sailboat Electrics Simplified which
I really liked. He makes one claim that leaves me concerned. He says
that bonding all the metal parts that are underwater is a bad idea in
that it increases the danger of galvanic corrosion from either badly
wired marinas (and most seem to be) or badly wired boats and this is a
much greater risk than that posed by stray current entirely within my boat.

However, the manufacturer of the boat installed a very elaborate bonding
system and I know that when surveyed the surveyor made sure the bonding
system was in place. Is this just a case of conventional wisdom being
slow to keep up with current practice? Thought I'd ask BEFORE cutting
and pulling out all that green wire.

    TIA

    Philip
