    Hi all,

I was on my way to Catalina just outside the harbor when I noticed the oil
pressure on one of my Detroit Diesels 6V53' was pegged over 80 psi. I turned
it off and am now back in the slip, waiting for my mechanic. Engine has
been off for 2 hours and its still pegged. Moves a bit when I turn on key. I
just had oil / filters changed. Oil level seems slightly high. Google
suggests oil pressure relief valve malfunction. There might be a slight amt of oil
    in bilge.

Any hints would be appreciated. Mechanic thinks maybe oil filter is
    defective possible.

    Thanks,
    Bill
