I know with Garmin, the 4.0 series Bahamas charts were worthless, 5.0 and up
were made from Explorer charts and were very detailed and accurate, although
not quite as detailed as Explorer or digitized photocopies of Explorer that
Maptech was selling. In the Virgin Islands, Imray & CYC charts had large
location errors, the Garmin (6.0 I think) were most accurate of all. All
above with Garmin 182C. Units of this screen size (~5") generally need
either a paper chart open or a PC based electronic running, you cannot open
up a large enough area on a 5" screen, and still see details.
