    Talking to the VW service guy a while ago and he described just a system a
    fellow put o a 99 Jetta and was getting free VO and 68 mpg to boot.

      I think it is a technique called SVO, Straight Vegetable Oil. Typically,
    one started the motor up under regular Diesel (or BioDiesel), once the motor
    is warmed up switch over to the SVO (One reason, the SVO is ran through a
    heat exchanger to warm/thin the oil before it gets to the motor). Need to
    switch back to the Diesel before stopping to purge the system.
