i think part of the problem is that there is a compulsion for people to
grab as much as they can get. many folks lust after a 52 inch tv costing
thousands to put up on a wall 15 feet from the sofa when a 13 inch tv six
feet from the sofa will have the same size effective picture. expand that
to everything in their lives. the huge credit card debt in america is a
    very visible symptom.

'white man build big fire, sit far away, indian build small fire, sit close'

as for kids running around in packs, they do that here in jacksonville
florida, but nowadays they are playing with assault weapons. sprayed a
house last week and killed a 8 year old girl because a girlfriend of one of
their pack broke up with him. the little girl died lying on top of her two
younger cousins to protect them. we are at almost 100 murders so far this
year in a population a bit over a million. about 90 percent young males
black on black and 10 percent white on white which seems to be older males,
    not much crossover.
