I've been there done that with the heat in houston. Dont be afraid to take a dip fully clothed. if i just keep damp clothes on all day and the temp feels awesome even when its literally a sauna, or an oven as the case may be.
there are waterproof laptops you can get that will tolerate dripping and damp hands. panasonic toughbooks can be had used for around 600 on ebay. this compared with 3000 plus for the latest and greatest new ones.

Hello All Again,
Well the temperature topped out at 96 in the
saloon at about 3:30. The spray bottle of water
has kept me from flinging myself into the bay, and
I will put it into the 'fridge for the night in
another couple of hours.
I used to worry if my computer would get too hot
to run in Mexico and Central America but now I am
much more confident. I have been running it all
day, even burned a DVD and it never even got close
to shutdown temperature (my bios has a CPU temp
readout and shutdown point preset in accordance
with Intel's specifications).
I think it will work anywhere just fine. I hope.
:-)
