    Its the slow cutting speed that makes the difference. First off it develops
    less heat and if yo ualso use a cutting oil that also results in less heat.

    <VBG> first discovered by canuck boaters drilling SS fittings during winter
    layup at -20 below in a howling blizzard. (standard Canadian winter mode)
    In order to duplicate the ease of drilling in brief summer month conditions
    they experimented with ice cubes, etc.Slow speed and lots of whale oil
    seemed the best solution. After whale oil was banned they experimented with
    other alternatives. <VBG> YMMV
    Of course greasing the yard manager's palm also works wonders from time to
    time.
