You might look at their tablets at http://www.mobilitysavings.com/Catalog/panasonic_toughbook_mdwd_441674_products.htm seem to be a lot cheaper and may work for you.

Has anyone purchased or used a Panasonic Toughbook?
If so, what model and how was your experience?
I will be a live-aboard on a Military Sealift Command (www.msc.navy.mil) ship for 6 months a year and need something that will be rugged. I have had bad experiences with laptops from heavy seas and liquids. (I should be the poster boy for their commercials!) I'm thinking of going with a unit designed for the environment rather than taking a fragile unit and building protection around it.
In particular, I'm thinking about the Toughbook 29. Looks like a strong unit. My concerns are about the keyboard (ease of use) and the size & weight and the lack of accessories. It will be expensive to fit it out and I'd like to know I'm getting value for the expense.
Any thoughts??
